The Shopaholic's Frenzy

It's like they hide all year,
Bating their breath with the excitement to come
Glittering trophies surrounding their fantasies,
Heightened senses guiding their lust
Overwhelming sensibility.
Lost in the crowds
Like prowling tigers,
They circle their prey.
Pushing through masses
Shoving.
With their slight of hand
They glean their prizes
Crushing opposition
As they wade through the sea.
If only they saw
The frivolity of it all.
And let me just buy my tea.

(Bacon) Love to the Nth Degree

Grumpy on Sundays,
He rises from sleeps.

Wary of movement,
Just stops.
And sneezes.
A good old stretch.
Yawn
Scratch
Snuggle
A night of slumber
Beckoning him back.

But bacon is calling,
Hot and fresh.

Filling his senses
With that sensuous smell.

A primitive yearning,
It overpowers his senses
As morning has broken
For man this day.

All Grown Up

Wistful memories
Flood thoughts of today
Like single driftwood
Braving vicious seas

Overwhelming it fills
This crescendo of grind
Helped only by thoughts
Perfect thoughts
Of times of play

Like flickering dreams
Their spirit of hope
Lost in the game
That we play each day

How impossible the dream
Cautiously it creeps
Encroaching this moment
The paper before me
Sounds in my ears

Lost.
Found.
Hopeful.

Deep breath

Time to go play.

Daybreak calls

The perfect daybreak fills my heart,
Lost in a thousand moons and suns,
This one feels different somehow.
Hopeful,
It reaches out warm fingers,
Caresses my face with the softest touch.
Lifting spirits above the darkness,
To the calm of the day in store.
Linen soft against my skin,
Safely cocooned, myself within,
Dream-drops lost in the morning dew,
As this hopeful light heralds day anew.

Impossible feats

The impossible feats the we overcome,
Beat down the doors with the sound of their drums.
Overwhelmed by life but lost in the stars,
We reach,
We sigh,
And with that they're gone.
